THE GIFT OF LAUGHTER I received the gift of laughter yesterday. No really, I did! A cd arrived in the mail from a new friend, an amazingly talented and original artist with a huge heart, and it contained 4 tracks of pure, delicious laughter.
A sneaky suspicion of what might have been on the cd had me grinning from ear to ear before I even hit play. Needless to say, I couldn't listen to even a minute of it without laughing myself.
The beauty of this gift was that my friend took the time to generously act on an inspiration and share an abundant part of herself with me. I began to consider the gifts that I have to offer, that cost no more than the price of a stamp and would bring more joy into the world. My handmade cards, a funny limerick to an unsuspecting friend, even a great big smile to a stranger in the checkout line would do the trick.
It makes me wonder what inspiration plays hide and seek inside of you and what it would take to set that free. Maybe it's not obvious; maybe it's sitting still, quietly waiting to be invited out to play. Consider this your invitation. Take a minute to discover it. Say it out loud. Share that gift in you that is so abundant, that once you start to actively engage it, it will flow out of you naturally and effortlessly. Try it.
Now take a moment to look around and see your impact.
