| | We had originally planned to launch Coach Spotlight on May 1st but delayed it until Monday May 4th at 9:02 p.m. Although we were disappointed by our delayed launch, there was a very good reason for the delay. Some speculated that there were technological issues that needed to be resolved. Others suggested that it was because I was booked to play in a Masters lacrosse tournament, beginning on Friday and running all that weekend.
In fact there is only one day during the year to launch a website if you truly want it to be remarkable and that day is May 4th.

Well, we are launched and with the fourth being with us, we had a pretty good start.
For those of you who don’t know us, we purchased Coaches Canada last year and promised a significant upgrade on Jan 1, 2009. We have been working non-stop since then to develop a site that has a strong value proposition for professional life and business coaches.
We have planned a two-stage launch. In stage one, we need to build content and improve Google rankings. To do this, our focus is on attracting coaches and building the quantity of blogs on our site. In phase two, we plan to more aggressively deliver our public relations plan to attract individuals, small business owners and managers or employees of large corporations seeking information and advice about personal and business issues to our site.
We have hired a leading SEO to help us, right from the start, to move us to the top of the search rankings for all key words relating to coaching. Many of our strategies will be initiated next week.
Here are some interesting statistics. In the first 8 days of existence, we had 289 visitors to our site, compared to Coaches Canada (www.coachescanada.com) at 184. We had 19,061 page views vs. 700 for Coaches Canada. So we think we are off to a pretty good start.
We have added new contributors from Canada, the United States, Taiwan, Australia and South Africa and have posted 160 blogs to our site.
Thank you to all who have joined us and have started telling our story to your friends and fellow coaches. A special thanks to Michael Bungay Stanier for his blog post – Join Coach Spotlight and those who read Michael’s The Great Work Blog.
We have already made some major changes to improve the site since we launched it. We will talk more about those next week.
