COACH SPOTLIGHT BLOG
A Message from Bob Simpson

In 2008, we purchased Coaches Canada (www.coachescanada.com) on a bit of a whim. It wasn't long before we confirmed one critical fact about coaches - they, like most other service professionals, need help with business development and Coaches Canada wasn't doing the job.

Before beginning my coaching practice in 1998, I was Senior VP Development for Midland Walwyn Capital Inc., Canada's largest independent financial advisory firm, which we sold to Merrill Lynch that year. I worked with 1,400 financial advisors who all struggled with the same issue. We helped our team of financial advisors to build great businesses and some of what I learned from that could be used to help business and life coaches.

The second conclusion was that advertising is done all wrong. A plumber puts his phone number in the newspaper or Yellow Pages and hopes somebody will call. Unfortunately hope is not a very effective strategy. The proper strategy is to provide potential users the ability to get to "know, like and trust you".

Those two major facts led us to the creation of Coach Spotlight. We have some pretty exciting plans - all of which center around helping you find new business.

Thanks to past members of Coaches Canada and the new contributors of Coach Spotlight for your past and future support.
