Brett McBurnie comes to coaching from a diverse and unique background. Born in Toronto in 1951, he attended school in East York and eventually went on to study Classical Studies (Greek and Latin); at the University of Toronto , with the purpose in mind of pursuing a general but well rounded education. He then began a career in sales which has spanned 36 years. During that time, he improved his business education with marketing certificates from both York University and Ryerson Polytechnic Institute, and became a Sales Manager in several companies, including a newspaper, a multinational printing company and a multinational transportation company. During this time, he trained salespeople, and this led him to pursue studies in Adult Education at Seneca College , from whom he holds a certificate. Further studies led to coaching education with the Gestalt Institute of Toronto.
Brett’s listening style has been documented as one that puts people at ease, and gives them the confidence that they are with someone who listens carefully in a non threatening manner, which gives the coachee a secure, safe experience.
He is a member of the Canadian Society of Trainers and Developers (CSTD)
He has published in the Society’s on line journal.
He is a member of the International Coaches Federation – GTA Coaches.
