Curing a Dry Scalp

The majority of people will, at some point in their life, experience a dry scalp. For some of us, it will go away on it’s own within several days. For others, it may linger around and become a chronic condition. Thankfully, several options exist to cure dandruff permanently

Tea tree oil is an anti-fungal essential oil. When added to shampoo and/or conditioner, this oil will manage the bacteria that over-produce skin cells. By killing these bacteria, fewer skin cells will be shed and, thus, your scalp will become less dry.

Coconut oil is great for treating both a dry scalp and the dandruff the often comes with it. Mixed with grapefruit extract and lemon juice, this treatment will provide your scalp with a nourishing, moisturizing environment when applied regularly and left to sit for about 15 minutes.

Avocado is not only a nutrient-rich food to consume, but also a powerful moisturizer when applied topically. Simply mash up a ripe avocado, add a couple tablespoons of olive oil, and massage it into your scalp. Let is sit with a shower cap on for half an hour. Wash and rinse your hair thoroughly afterwards.
